Marqam · مَرْقَمn. m.
Root · ر · ق · مArabicNoun

The Name

Marqamia place of inscription.

Etymology

From the classical Arabic root ر · ق · م (raqama) — to mark, to number, to inscribe upon a surface so that it endures. Marqam is the place where the mark is made.

Intention

We chose the name because every Marqami edition is, quite literally, an inscription — pigment pressed into cotton, numbered by hand, signed by its maker. A room with a Marqami in it becomes its own marqam.

Promise

Limited. Numbered. Archival for a century. The mark, once made, is kept.

The Atelier

From the atelier — to your wall.

Marqami — from the Arabic مرقم, place of inscription. Each piece is conceived in studio, printed on Hahnemühle cotton at master ateliers, and framed in brushed brass by craftsmen we've worked with for years.

Every order is hand-inspected, wrapped in unbleached muslin, and dispatched by tracked express courier — to anywhere in the world.

Manifesto

"A poster is not a product. It is a moment, fixed — a small monument to the rooms we choose to live inside."
